Sixx makes eight for HD+
By: SES ASTRA
German women’s entertainment channel Sixx will launch as a high definition channel on the HD+ platform on December 1. Sixx HD is the fourth HD channel from ProSiebenSat.1 group to broadcast via HD+ and will bring the number of channels on HD+ to eight, joining kabel eins HD, Pro7 HD, RTL HD, RTL2 HD (also launching in December), Sat.1 HD, Sport1 HD, and VOX HD.
HD+ broadcasts from the ASTRA 19.2°E satellites and 400,000 HD+ set-top boxes have been sold since the platform’s launch in 2009. Wilfried Urner, Managing Director of HD+ said, "The fast channel take-up and the positive receiver sales demonstrate the popularity of HD+ among broadcasters and TV viewers. It shows that only one year after its launch, HD+ has established itself as an integral part of the German TV landscape."
