Research by UK free-to-air satellite TV platform, Freesat has revealed that British TV viewers will go to almost any lengths to see their favourite TV programmes. Over a third admit to missing a night out to watch TV, one in ten have taken sick leave from work to make sure they’re at home to catch the latest episode of a series, and 7% have even left a wedding or funeral early to catch a much-loved show.
Apparently the five programmes UK viewers least want to miss are detective series, Sherlock, sci-fi drama, Doctor Who, soap, Coronation Street, period drama Downton Abbey and comedy Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Viewers in the UK watch an average of four hours of broadcast TV each day. Freesat broadcasts over 200 unencrypted TV and radio channels from the ASTRA 28.2°E satellites.
