Mickey Mouse Goes Free

German free-to-air TV now includes the Disney Channel. Previously encrypted as part of the Sky Deutschland pay-TV platform, the free Disney Channel targets children aged 3-13 during the daytime, showing series such as Phineas & FerbGood Luck Charlie, and The Wizards of Waverley Place, and in the evening shows family series and films such as Pixar animated features.

Disney Channel now broadcasts free-to-air from the 12.460GHz/H transponder on ASTRA 1M at 19.2°E, alongside other German FTA channels such as Anixe, QVC, and Sixx.

Disney Channel Deutschland HD is also available without subscription but is encrypted as part of the HD+ German high definition platform on ASTRA 19.2°E. The Disney spin-off channels for Germany, Disney Junior, Disney XD and Disney Cinemagic remain encrypted as part of Sky Deutschland.
