UK in Love with TV

Live programming dominates viewing with an average of 25.3 million viewers watching prime time (8pm-9pm) TV each day but ‘time-shifted’ viewing is on the increase, accounting for 9.2% of all TV viewing in 2011 compared to 7.1% the previous year. In particular, the BBC iPlayer catch-up service (available on connected TVs and set-top boxes for the Freesat HD platform on ASTRA 28.2°E) showed a 28% increase in daily users in 2011.

The report also reveals that half of TV sold in the UK in 2011 were HD TVs and that on average each UK household now owns 2.34 TV sets.
