BBC’s ‘Summer of 3D’

Adapted from the 2D series, Planet Dinosaur 3D will recreate the lost world of the dinosaurs and chart the rise and fall of the 'ultimate killers'. A specialist team of ‘stereographers’ have hand-crafted individual frames and sequences to ensure that the 3D experience has maximum impact. Planet Dinosaur 3D will broadcast in August 2012. In September, the famous ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert will be broadcast in 3D for the first time. With eight specialist cameras, including one in front of the conductor and a remote camera within the orchestra, viewers will experience the best seats in the house and feel that they are actually in the orchestra, with a 3D view of every individual instrument.

BBC’s 3D programmes broadcast free-to-air as part of the BBC HD channel on the ASTRA 28.2°E satellite, and are available to anyone with access to a 3D TV set.
