Freesat, the free-to-air digital satellite TV platform broadcasting to the UK from the ASTRA satellites at 28.2°E, has revealed the winners of its annual Product Awards for 2010. The winners in the four categories were chosen by Freesat and the editors of What Satellite & Digital TV, Home Cinema Choice and TechRadar.com. The award for Best Freesat Receiver went to the Technisat HDFS, the first Freesat product from the German manufacturer, and featuring the ability to playback music and video from external storage devices and networked PCs. The Best Freesat+ HD recorder is the Humax Foxsat-HDR, with a 320GB hard disk drive, great AV performance and competitive price. The Panasonic TX-P50VT20B was judged the Best Freesat HD TV with a 50in screen and flash memory or network playback delivering stunning SD, HD and 3D pictures. The overall Freesat Product of the Year is the Panasonic DMR-BS880, a twin-tuner Freesat receiver with both hard disc recorder and Blu-ray recorder.
