10 million for BSkyB

Sky in the UK has announced that its direct-to-home service has 10 million TV customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland, or about 36% of British and Irish households. This comfortably meets Sky’s self-imposed target of 10 million viewers by the end of 2010 that was set in 2004 when Sky had some 7.6 million customers.

BSkyB estimates that some 25 million people now watch Sky TV and report that about a third of the Sky households subscribe to high definition TV. Sky broadcasts to the UK via the ASTRA 28.2°E satellites.
