As host nation broadcaster for the 2012 London Olympic Games, the BBC will be broadcasting some events live in 3D. These include the Opening Ceremony (July 27), the Men’s 100m final and the Closing Ceremony, and for these events, the standard definition broadcast will be on BBC One, high definition simulcast on BBC One HD and the 3D transmission on the BBC HD Channel. The BBC HD Channel will also carry a one-hour highlights programme in 3D at the end of each day.
In standard definition, BBC has pledged to bring live sport from every Olympic venue where it’s happening, with coverage across BBC One, BBC Three, BBC Radio 5 Live and the interactive ‘red button’ service on digital TV.
All BBC channels are available free-to-air on ASTRA 28.2°E. Visit www.bbc.co.uk for more information
